Managing Dynamic Document Templates
Creating Dynamic Document Templates
Dynamic document templates created for Windchill Service Information Manager can be used as starting points to create information elements. There are a few sample dynamic document templates available from the Templates folder in Windchill. You can also create your own templates using Arbortext Editor and upload them to Windchill using your PTC Server connection.
Instructions for uploading dynamic document templates are available in the Arbortext Help Center for Arbortext Editor. The topic is called Saving a DITA Topic to be Used as a PTC Server Template, and it documents a two-stage process:
1. Save a template dynamic document to a specified location on the PTC Server from Arbortext Editor.
2. In Windchill, from the Templates table, locate and choose the template you want to add using the New Dynamic Document Template feature.
