Installing Oracle Client Software
If your Oracle server and Windchill server are located on separate machines, and you are planning to customize Windchill and generate Data Definition Language (DDL) scripts, use the following procedure to install Oracle client software on your Windchill server machine.
On the Windchill server, install the following product:
Oracle Client (Runtime) - Provides tools for developing applications, networking services and client software.
These instructions apply to both Windows and UNIX installations. Additional documentation is provided where Windows and UNIX differ.
Complete the following steps to install the Oracle client:
1. Before initiating the installation, stop any running Oracle products.
In particular, shut down any Oracle local services.
2. Insert or mount the Oracle Database DVD 1 of 3.
3. If the installer does not start automatically, run the executable or script to start the installer:
On Windows: <DVD-ROM>\client\setup.exe
On UNIX: <DVD-ROM>/runinstaller
The Welcome window opens.
4. Click Next to begin the installation.
The Select Installation Type window opens.
5. Select Runtime and click Next.
The Specify Home Details window opens.
6. Enter the following and click Next.

A name for the installation
Path
Full path where you want to install the Oracle software.
The Available Product Components window opens.
7. Select the check boxes of the components you want to install and click Next.
The Product-Specific Prerequisite Checks window opens. The installer performs some checks. The status column should display Successful and the results should display Passed. Go to the next step.
If flagged items appear, click each item for details about the warnings. Resolve the issue if directed to do so.
The Summary panel appears displaying the options you chose.
8. Click Install.
