Description
• Enables you to include special characters in your SOLIDWORKS configuration file name.
• Provides better consistency between the configuration name and its instance CAD document's file name.
• Provides better support for the ‘@’ character that is added to SOLIDWORKS file names when the server-side preference Include generic name with instance to Yes.
PTC has added support for special characters in configuration file names for Save As and Rename actions. The supported special characters in the configuration file names are < > : " | * ?.
To include the special character ‘@’ in the configuration file name, set the server-side preference > > to Yes.
Additional Information
It is recommended to follow the best practices specified below:
• Include only one ‘@’ character in the configuration file name for Save As and Rename.
• Do not use the ‘@’ character at the beginning of the configuration file name.
• To avoid any errors, the configuration file names must include the generic name. The configuration file name must be in this format – ConfigurationName@GenericName.
