Windchill Packages: Support for Retaining Version Information During Package Import
User Interface Location: Import Received Delivery and Preview Received Delivery Import dialog box
Product: Windchill
Release: 12.0.2.0
Benefit
Provides the ability to retain the version information from the source system when importing Windchill packages.
Additional Details
Windchill Packages provide the ability to improve collaboration between users from two different Windchill installations. When importing a received delivery, you can either implicitly map the version information from the source system to its equivalent using the series definition configured in the target system, or retain the version consistent with the source system.
Version mapping can be configured using the com.ptc.windchill.rd.labelBasedImportHandling.trackedSenders property. The selected version mapping method is indicated in the Import Received Delivery dialog box and in the import log file available in the received delivery information page. The value Position based indicates implicit mapping, and None indicates the retention of version labels from the source system.
Tips:
Configure the property for version mapping before importing a package. Do not change the settings later, as it may cause conflicts in object versioning in subsequent or incremental imports.
Limitations:
None
