Finding Objects
Data tables throughout Windchill allow you to add object references by clicking the Add icon . Clicking this icon displays a window containing search criteria consistent with the type of objects displayed in the table. The title of the window varies according to the action and type of object. Follow these general steps when using object specific search windows:
1. Enter values for search criteria that return the desired objects.
*
Some of the search criteria provide the ability to launch a second search operation using the find icon , the date selection icon , or selections from drop-down lists.
2. Click the Search button beneath the search criteria. The objects matching the search criteria are displayed in the Search Results table beneath the search criteria.
*
You can customize the attributes that are displayed in the search results table using the customize icon . For more information on customizing data tables, see Using Tables.
3. Select the desired objects from the search results table and click OK at the bottom of the search window.
The selected objects appear in the table from which the Add action was launched.
