Advanced Search
Use the Windchill advanced search capability to perform detailed search queries. Using more specific criteria reduces search time and limits the number of database objects that are returned. Advanced search also allows frequently used searches to be saved, shared with others, altered, and reused.
To access the advanced search, open the Navigator and select the Search tab. Click Advanced Search at the top of the tab. You can also select Advanced Search from the global search drop-down menu:
The advanced search field sets are joined by a combination of AND and OR operators. For more information, see Search Operators.

Whenever possible, include as many specific criteria as you can. Narrow searches take less time to perform. This is particularly important for indexed searching. While the search index provides much more flexibility, searches take longer to complete. Including additional criteria helps.
Click the cancel icon to cancel a search that is taking too long to complete. This icon appears as the Search Results table is loading.
