Closing or Deleting Discussions
Once posted, you can delete or close discussion threads that have become obsolete or are completed. Closing or deleting a topic affects all comments posted under that topic. Likewise, deleting a comment affects any comments that have been posted in response.
Whether you can close or delete a topic or comment depends on the administrative permissions set at your site. Typically, you can delete and close your own topics or comments. If these actions do not appear, check with an administrator. For more information, see Accessing Data.

Users with the appropriate administrative permissions can also delete or close topics and comments posted by other users.
Deleting Discussion Activities
Delete a topic or comment permanently removes it from the Discussions table.
Any comments that have been posted in reply are also deleted, including those created by other users.
If another user is subscribed to the deleted topic or comment, their subscription is also deleted. Notifications are not sent to subscribers when a discussion activity is deleted.
To delete a topic or comment, select Delete from the right-click actions menu.
You can also click a topic name to open the topic in a new window. Select comments and click the delete icon on the Comments table toolbar. To delete the topic, select Actions > Delete.
Closing Discussion Topics
Closing a topic prevents users from adding new comments in response.
Comments that have already been posted remain visible.
Once a topic has been closed, you cannot reopen it.
Closing a discussion thread does not affect existing subscriptions. You must manually delete your subscriptions to a closed topic.
To close a topic, select Close Topic from the right-click actions menu.
You can also click a topic name to open the topic in a new window. Select Actions > Close Topic.
