Redline Structure Panes
The redline structure pane is located under the actions toolbar, and is divided into two panes. The left pane displays the redline tree or assembly of the BOM and Find in Structure fields. For more information on find in structure, see Find in Structure.
The left pane displays an indented hierarchy of parts representing the structure of a redline. The redline row and each child part row in the structure are identified by the part icon, number, name, and version including the view in parenthesis.
It provides visual indicators for the redline part structure based on the structure annotations.
The right panes contain information organized into tabs such as Attributes, Uses, Occurrences, and Documents for the redline.
*
You can make more space for the structure information by collapsing the toolbar. Click the collapse icon on the right side, just below the toolbar.
The structure tree has the same actions described in the Actions Toolbar. The Replace and Revert actions are the additional right-click actions available for the redline:
Action
Description
Replace
Replace with Existing – Opens a window from which you can select an existing part to use as a replacement
Replace with New – Opens the New Part window from which you can create a part to be inserted into the structure as the replacement of the selected part.
*
This action is similar to the remove and insert action. It does not create a replacement relationship.
Revert
Restores or resets a modified, replaced, or removed part usage link to the original by using the Revert action based on the branch point.
Structure Annotations and Visual Indicators
When you perform any modifications on the redline or child parts, the redline tree and usage table show visual markups with color indicators. The changes in the usage table are also marked with the Change Indicator icons.
The following colors indicate the changes in the redline structure tree and the usage table after modifications in the BOM:
