Business Rules Available
There are business rules available that can ensure validity. Some rules come with your delivered system; others you will have to load. For more information, see Business Rules.
Checkout Rule
This rule ensures that objects are not checked out or checked out to a project.
Attributes Rule
This rule ensures that the resulting objects on the change release process meet certain attribute checks. Attribute checks include:
Name is not null
Attribute is not 0
Boolean value is confirmed
Attribute does not equal a specified string
Subtypes may be excluded from the validation check
A range may be specified for an attribute
Release Target Rule
This rule ensures that all resulting objects are at an appropriate state for release and have an appropriate change management transition specified that is consistent with the assigned life cycle transition rules.
BOM Release Rule
This rule ensures that all resulting objects are at an appropriate state and all their first-level dependants are at an appropriate state before release.
When a rule fails, a View Rule Conflicts link appears in the Audit Change Notice and Resolve Release Conflicts workflow task pages.
