Using the Option Filter
A configurable part structure uses configurable modules to capture optional product capabilities. Options and choices are assigned to configurable modules in the overloaded part structure, and rules are used when the selection of one module requires the selection of another. You can set an option filter using the Edit Filter action. Choices cause parts to be added or removed from the part structure. When choices have been selected for all options, the resulting product structure reflects one marketable variant of the product.
For more information, see Editing a Structure Filter.
You can apply additional configuration specification and specialized filters to the results of the option filter. The filtered part structure can then be used to test option selection logic, visualize optional product configurations, and validate the detailed designs of optional product combinations.
