Windchill Diagnostic Task Scheduler
Windchill supports scheduling and execution of mandatory WinDU tasks through Windchill UI. Browse to > > to automate the execution of WinDU tasks.
• Following activities can be performed from the Windchill Diagnostic Tasks Scheduler page to schedule, run and stop the upgrade mandatory WinDU tasks:
◦ Frequency—Select the frequency for scheduling the WinDU tasks for example. Weekly, Monthly or Quarterly.
◦ Start Date and Time—Select the date and time for scheduling WinDU tasks.
◦ Option—Select the Repair Upgrade Mandatory Errors to repair the errors reported by the WinDU tasks using respective WinRU tasks.
If this option is selected, the automated healing can be done for the following Windchill Diagnostic Tasks:
▪ ListCheckedOutWorkflowLifecycleTemplates
▪ MissingControlBranchCleanserDT
▪ MissingMaster
▪ NullDerivedFromDiagnosticTask
▪ UpdateCountA2
Rest of the Windchill Diagnostic tasks need manual data repairing as instructed in the respective Windchill Diagnostic tasks logs.
◦ Upgrade Mandatory—Select the upgrade mandatory WinDU tasks to be scheduled for execution.
◦ Schedule—Click Schedule to schedule the WinDU tasks.
1. To schedule the WinDU tasks, Frequency, Start Date and Time, and Upgrade Mandatory selection is required.
◦ Run Now—Click Run Now to start the execution of selected diagnostic tasks immediately.
◦ Stop Run—Click Stop Run to terminate the currently running diagnostic tasks.
Banner message displayed on Windchill Diagnostic Tasks Scheduler UI displays status for the following:
1. Last run results.
2. Scheduler.
3. Current executions.
Check the WinDUSchedulingQueue entries from > > > to view the status of diagnostic tasks that are scheduled or currently running.
The execution reports are stored at the following locations:
◦ WinDU tasks—{WT_HOME}/WinDU/logs directory.
◦ WinRU tasks—{WT_HOME}/WinRU/logs directory. The WinRU logs would be generated if Repair Upgrade Mandatory Errors is selected.
