Windchill Preferences for Naming and Numbering
The following preferences control the parameter-driven Naming and Numbering policy when using Windchill Workgroup Manager. The following table shows the various Naming and Numbering parameters. By default, these properties have no assignedvalue:

You can use the Naming and Numbering parameters for an existing document during Import, Save to Workspace, or Save As operations. You can use the numbering parameter for the File > New command in SOLIDWORKS only when the CAD Document file name is not autonumbered from Windchill.
*
When a Numbering Parameter is used with configuration parts, then the value of the numbering parameter must be different for each instance. You can do this by adding the numbering parameter as a Configuration column in the Summary Information table (File > Properties), and provide a different number value for each instance.
