Rules for Using Upload and Check In
Consider these rules for using Upload and Check In with part family objects:
To check in the changes that you made to the part family, you must first save it to a workspace.
If you want to check in a modified member of a part family, you must also check in the generic and all instances.
New instances are always collected and included on checkin.
Upon checkin, instances that you deleted from the part family while editing the generic are collected and removed from the workspace.
Attempting to upload or check in any part family member that is not checked out creates a conflict. You can resolve the conflict using the options in the conflict user interface.
If you have modified an instance and the changes are non-file-based (for example, changes to the association of the instance), you can check in this change.
