Rules for Using Save As
There are two ways to create a copy of a part family:
• In Windchill - Use the Save As action with a generic model to create a copy of the part family. This creates copies of the generic and all instances.

Save As does not allow you to create a partial copy - you can only copy the entire part family.

• In NX- The Save As command in NX only allows you to specify a new name for the generic, not the instances. Therefore, if you want to save a copy of the part family, you must first edit the part family spreadsheet and give the instances unique names.
