Manufacturing Links
Links are used to establish relationships between design parts and manufacturing parts. The following part link types are used in Windchill MPMLink.
Part Link Type
Function
Equivalent
Links an upstream part to a downstream part, or to multiple downstream parts.
Occurrence
Creates a link between two part paths. Used to relate an occurrence path of a part in an upstream context to its equivalent occurrence path in a downstream context (a path to path link).
Equivalent Usage
Creates a link between two part usage paths. Used to relate a usage path of a part in an upstream context to its equivalent usage path in a downstream context.
Reference
Link together upstream, as-designed and downstream, as-planned parts that can be related without being equivalent.
Compatibility
Defines the relationship between resources, groups, and capabilities that represents how those elements are combined in a process plan operation to achieve a valid technical result.
Consumption
Enables you to model the consumption of parts from the upstream eBOM into the downstream mBOM.
Alternate Equivalent
Links existing assemblies in upstream view with alternate assemblies in downstream view.
