Allocating a Processing Resource to an Operation in Process Plan Browser
You can also use the Processing Resources tab in the process plan browser to allocate a processing resource. To allocate a processing resource to an operation in process plan browser:
1. Right-click on the operation for which you want to allocate a processing resource and select Editing > Allocate Resource. The Allocate Resource dialog box opens.
2. Select or search the type of object from the Search On drop-down list.
3. Enter the search criteria, and click Search. The results of the search are returned at the bottom of the window.
4. Select the desired processing resource, and click OK.
a. If there are no compatibility links attached to a processing resource, then they are directly added under an operation.
b. If there are any compatibility links attached to processing resource, the Select Compatible Links for object: dialog box opens. It displays a list of compatibility links.
a. If there are no Forbidden processing resources present, the Select Compatible Links for object: dialog box displays a list of Acceptable, Mandatory and Preferred resources.

The Preferred resources are selected by default. You can uncheck them.
The Acceptable resources are not selected by default. You can select or unselect them.
You cannot unselect the Mandatory resources.
b. If there are no Forbidden processing resources present, a processing resource with a Forbidden processing resource attached to it gets directly allocated to the operation.
c. If a Forbidden resource is already allocated to an operation, then a processing resource with the same Forbidden resource attached to it, cannot be allocated to the same operation. An error will be displayed stating the same.
d. If there are any already allocated Not Recommended processing resources associated with a processing resource, a warning will be displayed. You are provided with an option to cancel the association or continue with the association.
5. Click OK. The resources are added under the operation.
An error is displayed if you allocate an already allocated processing resource to an operation.
