Applying Variant Specification on a Smart Collection
To apply a variant specification on a smart collection, perform the following steps:
1. Open a smart collection in BOM Transformer.
2. Click > > . The Select Variant Specification dialog box opens.
3. Select a variant specification and click OK. Alternatively, you can apply variant specification from Quick Plant Filter dialog box.
The parts that satisfy the criteria set in variant specification and smart collection are displayed in the upstream and downstream structures in BOM Transformer.
As the variant specification is applied on the smart collection, and not on the entire structure, only those parts in the smart collection, that satisfy the variant specification criteria appear.
Similarly, if you apply configuration specification or filter criteria, or both, on the smart collection, and not on the entire structure, only those parts in the smart collection, that satisfy the configuration specification and filter criteria appear.
