All Numeric Document Numbers Under 25 Characters
If a document from Windchill PDMLink has a document number that is all numeric and less than 25 characters, a success message is returned by SAP; however, the document does not exist in SAP and the data in Windchill and SAP will be out of synch. The Windchill document number limit is 32 characters.
To prevent the system from behaving in this manner, you can do one of the following:
• Customize the EAI software components to pad object numbers to meet the required SAP field length
• Configure document numbers in Windchill PDMLink to pad object numbers to meet the required SAP field length
