Creating a New Part Instance from an Existing Part Instance
New part instances are created from existing part instances using the Save As action.
1. Click Save As from one of the following locations.
◦ The Actions menu on a part instance information page.
◦ The right-click actions menu for a selected part instance in the Updates or Search Results tables.
2. Enter the Serial Number and/or Lot Number in the appropriate fields in the Save As Part Instance window.

The required fields are determined by default trace code of the base part of the configuration.
3. Click OK to complete the operation. The information page for the new part instance is displayed.

Use the Save As action to quickly create multiple part instances having the same part configuration.
