Supported Objects
This section includes tables that list the objects that are supported and not supported by the import and export functionality. Import and export processes are not solely supported by the Import/Export Management utility. Refer to the Comments column for additional information about the window that may support import and export. In addition to Import/Export Management, there are other data moving utilities available in Windchill. For example, there are the LoadFromFile and LoadFileSet data loaders, which support different object types.
For information about data loading tools in Windchill, refer to the following topics:
For data loading tools in Windchill, seeOverview of Load Utilities
For differences between data loaders and import/export, see When to Use LoadFromFile and Import/Export
Refer to the appropriate table to determine whether an object is supported by loader technology and by the Import/Export Management utility.
Supported Windchill ProjectLink Objects
The following table lists the Windchill ProjectLink objects that can be loaded or exported and imported. The Can Be Exported column specifies whether it is possible to export this object to a file using the Windchill Import/Export Management utility, the Life Cycle Template Administration or Workflow Template Administration utility, as part of a template, or in some other manner.

Associated life cycles are supported, but the target system must have the corresponding life cycle template.
When a document is exported, the name of the life cycle template it uses is exported. The actual life cycle template is not exported. The assumption is that the target system has a life cycle template with the same name, so the document is linked to the life cycle template on the target system.
You can directly export or import a life cycle template from Life Cycle Template Administration, but this is independent of documents, parts, and so on.

The name of the workflow template is imported or exported, not the template. It is assumed that the target system has a workflow with the same name.
The LoadLifecycle loader also only loads the template and the names of workflow templates for phases and gates.
LoadLifecycle is typically run after LoadWorkflow, so the associations between a phase and a workflow template are created on the LoadLifecycle load.
