Complete Packages
A complete package contains the total set of Creo Parametric files, the metadata about those files, and possibly content files related to the files from a source PLM system. The package contains a manifest detailing the information about contents of the package and may contain special instructions for the recipient at the target PLM system.
Usage Scenarios
A complete package is used for:
Exchanging data for the first time. No previous data exchange occurred so complete set of objects must be exchanged. The data exchange can be design data or library distribution data.
The data exchange occurs one time only with no need for further exchange. Especially if it is spontaneous cached data exchange.
Some instances where it is followed by the incremental package and/or synchronization package exchange, if subsequent further data exchange is necessary.
Instances where some data may have been exchanged previously, but starts the exchange of a new design or project for the first time.
Ownership transfer of an object from the original owner to a new owner. A complete package for ownership transfer is sent to the prospective new owner.
The prospective new owner imports this package in their PLM system. The new owner sends a master synchronization package to the original owner and other PLM systems that they exchange data with containing the data for this object. In turn, the original owner imports the master synchronization package in their PLM system and sends the master synchronization package to other PLM systems that they exchange data with that contains the data for this object. Also see, Synchronization Packages.
