Specifying the Installation Directory
Choose the base installation directory for your products. The base installation directory is the parent directory in which subdirectories are created for your optional products and platform components.
|
The Installation Directory for the SQL Server Configuration Utility is the location where both the datafiles and transaction log file will be initially installed by default. It is recommended for a production SQL Server deployment to use separate disks (or logical volumes in a striped array) for the transaction log and the datafiles. When you define a new directory path for datafiles, you must ensure that you have CRUD permissions for the new datafiles directory.
|
You can change each individual subdirectory to meet your needs. By default, all products and components are installed under the Base Installation Directory. You can change this by editing the installation directory in any given field. To continue propagating changes throughout all installation paths, enter further changes under the Base Installation Directory field.
| When specifying a directory for Java, ensure that the directory path does not contain any spaces. |
As Windchill Directory Server requires Java 8 (version 202 and above) and Windchill requires Java 11, you must specify two separate directories for both.
