Disabling or Enabling Windchill Directory Server as a Windows Service
The following steps explain how to use the control panel to disable or enable the Windchill Directory Server as a Windows service.

The installation of theWindchill Directory Server does not enable the server as a Windows service.
If you specified a mapped or SUBST drive in the file path for the Windchill Directory Server installation directory or in the Java path, do not run the server as a Windows service. Enabling the Windchill Directory Server as a Windows service when the installation file path is either a mapped or SUBST drive causes errors when attempting to start and monitor the server with the control panel.
1. Open the control panel. For more information, see Starting the Control Panel.
2. Click Stop to stop the Windchill Directory Server.
3. Click Runtime Options in the left pane.
4. Click Windows Service. The window that opens indicates if the Windows service is enabled.
To enable the Windchill Directory Server as a Windows service, click Enable.
To disable the Windchill Directory Server as a Windows service, click Disable.
5. Click Close to close the Windows Service window.
6. From the main control panel window, optionally restart the Windchill Directory Server by clicking Start.
