Windchill Directory Server Failover Configuration Verification and Tests
After configuring for Windchill Directory Server failover and ensuring that all replicating Windchill Directory Servers are running, complete the following activities:
• Verify that Windchill starts successfully and you can log on.
• Verify you can successfully search for users using the Participant Administration utility that is available in the site context from > .
• Start the Info*Engine Administration utility that is available in the site context by clicking Info*Engine Administration from the > page. Verify that you can log on with the updated value in the Base URI field.
After verifying that the Windchill system is operating correctly using the previous activities, complete the following tests to ensure that the Windchill Directory Server failover is working:
• Stop the first Windchill Directory Server in the URL list and complete the following activities:
◦ Repeat the verifications that involve the Participant Administration utility and the Info*Engine Administration utility from the previous activities.
◦ Successfully log on using another user.
◦ Stop and then restart Windchill. Verify that it starts successfully and then repeat the previous verifications.
• Restart the first Windchill Directory Server.
After the first server starts, new connections go to the first server in the list and existing connections remain with the second server.
