Creating a New Enumeration
To create a new enumeration or subenumeration (an enumeration created under a parent enumeration), use the following procedure:
1. From the right-click actions menu for an enumeration organizer, select New Enumeration; from the right-click actions menu for an enumeration, select New Subenumeration.
The New Enumeration or New Subenumeration window opens.
2. Enter the following information for the enumeration:
Internal Name—This value must be unique within the system. This is a required field.
Display Name—The name of the enumeration as displayed in the tree structure.
Description—A description of the enumeration.
Owning Organization—The organization in which the enumeration is being created, based on where the Type and Attribute Management utility was launched. If the Type and Attribute Management utility was launched from Site > Utilities, then the property value is Site; if the Type and Attribute Management utility was launched from Organizations > Utilities, then the property value is the name of the launching organization. For subenumerations, the owning organization is the same as the owning organization of the parent enumeration. This property is viewable, but cannot be edited.
Domain—The domain in which the enumeration resides. This field is applicable only for PTC FlexPLM or Windchill PartsLink systems. All other systems should leave this property unchanged.
3. Click OK to create the enumeration. The information page for the enumeration displays in edit mode.
Click Apply to create the enumeration, and refresh the New Enumeration or New Subenumeration window to create another enumeration.
