User Interface Limitations
Some settings can be configured in the Type and Attribute Management utility, but are not reflected elsewhere in the user interface. Enhancements are planned to close these gaps in a future Windchill release.
Constraints
Conditions defined on attribute constraints have no effect in the end-user user interface.
Entries from the Suggested Value List constraint are shown in the part structure browser, but are not shown elsewhere in the user interface.
Because a local list of options are always rendered for Boolean data type attributes, a Legal Value List constraint defined on an attribute with a Boolean data type is not honored in the Windchill user interface.
Attribute Layouts
Global attributes based on a reusable attribute with an Object Reference data type and local attributes with a Reference data type (com.ptc.core.meta.common.TypeInstanceIdentifier) should not be used in attribute layouts for new object creation and object edit windows.
Attribute layouts for structure-related screen types have the following limitations:
The Alphabetical List display style is not supported. Use the Organized in Grid display style.
The Top label display location is not supported. The Left label display location must be used.
Blank cells are not supported within the Organized in Grid display style.
Column spanning is not supported within the Organized in Grid display style.
Additional attributes should not be added to the layout titled Create Cad Document Layout for the CAD Document type and all of its subtypes. Only the attributes present out-of-the-box in the layout display in the end-user user interface.
Alias attributes defined in the LogicalAttributes.xml file cannot be used in attribute layouts. Only alias attributes created in the Type and Attribute Management utility can be added to layouts.
Visibility
Visibility settings defined on certain attributes may not be reflected in the user interface. These attributes include: Name, Number, and all user or participant-related attributes.
Alias and Calculated Attribute Usage Limitations
The following user interfaces do not support alias and calculated attributes. If alias or calculated attributes are added to these user interfaces, for example in an attribute layout or custom table view, the attributes may not display correctly.

Alias and calculated attributes displayed on create and edit windows are not updated until the create action or edit action is processed. Once the action is processed, the attribute value is updated. For more information, see Attribute Display.
Part Describe Link and Part Reference Link
Subtypes and customer-defined attributes can be added to the Part Describe Link and Part Reference Link types in the Type and Attribute Management utility, but do not appear in the end-user user interface.
For additional information on how attributes are displayed in the Windchill user interface, see the help topics in the section titled Presenting Information in the UI.
