Accessing Context Templates
Administrators have access to templates from the Templates link from the following locations in the Navigator:
From Site > Templates, site administrators can create and manage templates that can then be available from Site and the other contexts.
From Organizations > Templates, site administrators and organization administrators can create and manage templates that can then be available from within the organization.
From Products > Templates, site administrators, organization administrators, and product managers can create and manage templates that can then be available from within the product context under which the templates were created. (Windchill PDMLink orArbortext Content Manager only)
From Libraries > Templates, site administrators, organization administrators, and library managers can create and manage templates that can then be available from within the library context under which the templates were created. (Windchill PDMLink orArbortext Content Manager only)
From Projects > Templates, site administrators, organization administrators, and project managers can create and manage templates that can then be available from within the project context under which the templates were created. (Windchill ProjectLink only)
From Programs > Templates, site administrators, organization administrators, and program managers can create and manage templates that can then be available from within the program context under which the templates were created. (Windchill ProjectLink only)
Out of the box, Windchill provides the following types of context templates:
Product templates define default values and other information, such as team roles and access policies, which are used when an administrator creates a product using Windchill PDMLink and Arbortext Content Manager.
Library templates define default values and other information, such as team roles and access policies, which are used when an administrator creates a library using Windchill PDMLinkand Arbortext Content Manager.
Project templates define default values and other information, such as team roles and access policies, which are used when an administrator creates a project using Windchill ProjectLink.
Program templates define default values and other information, such as team roles and access policies, which are used when an administrator creates a program using Windchill ProjectLink.
Organization templates define default values and other information, such as team roles and access policies, which are used when an administrator creates an organization. (Arbortext Content Manager or Windchill PDMLink only)
