Relationships Between OEM and Supplier Parts
An OEM part can be associated with several manufacturer parts. To create an association between a manufacturer part and an OEM part, that part must be added to an AML.
The following figure illustrates the relationships between an OEM part and its associated supplier parts. In this figure, an OEM part is associated with multiple manufacturer parts that, in turn, are associated with several vendor parts. The sourcing status (for example, Approved or Preferred) is applied to the relationship between two associated parts.
Alternatively, an OEM part can also be directly associated with vendor parts as shown in the following figure.
