Using Report Studio to Author Reports
If your site has the optional Windchill Business Report Author module, users with the proper permissions can use the Report Studio tool within Windchill Business Reporting to author reports which take advantage of its more robust reporting capabilities, including:
Drag-and-drop report authoring.
Incorporate text, charts, and images within one report.
Create reports using a variety of charts and graphs, including crosstabs, bar and 3D bar, pie, line, gauge, funnel, scatter, dot density, waterfall, and others.
Data sources for these reports are created from your Windchill data using the Query Builder or Info*Engine tasks as noted in the previous sections.
To access the Report Studio, users must be a member of the Business Report Author group. Initially, the Windchill administrative user (wcadmin, by default) and the Windchill Business Reporting administrative user (wbradmin, by default) created during installation are the only members of this group. Additional users can be added to this group using the Participant Administration utility, available from Site > Utilities.
When authoring reports within Windchill Business Reporting, it is necessary that you save the reports within a folder structure that mirrors the context hierarchy of your Windchill solution. For detailed information on authoring reports for use with Windchill Business Reporting, see Report Generation.
