Creating a Queue
The queues required for general Windchill processing are created automatically when Windchill starts. The only area in the out-of-the-box Windchill functionality that new queues could be needed is when setting up publishing within Creo View.
Use the following procedure to create a background queue:
1. Click the new queue icon at the top of Queue Management table.
2. Enter the name for the queue in the Name field. The name you specify must be unique among the queues. A maximum of 30 characters is allowed.
3. Select a Type:
Select Process if you want the queue entry processed in the order it is received.
Select Schedule if you want entries processed according to an execution time.
4. To enable the queue when it is created, select Yes for Enabled; to disable the queue, select No.
5. Enter an established group name in the Group field if your site has assigned queue groups to individual method servers. If your site has not assigned queue groups to method servers, leave Default as the name. A group name can consist of alphanumeric characters.
6. Enter the number of failure retries you want executed if a queue entry execution fails.
7. Enter the number of seconds to suspend queue execution between queue entry retries. The default value is 5 seconds.
8. Click OK to create the queue and close the window.
