Setting a Main Type on a Report Template
Selecting a table from the Main Type drop-down list specifies the table on which that the report template is based. The other tables in the report template are considered to provide supplemental information. Selecting a table as a main type supports the following functionality:
• The
Related Object Search available from the
Advanced Search. If the
Available for use with Advanced Search property is set for the report template, and the
Main Type matches the object type of the search, then the report template is available for selection from the
Related Object Search drop-down list. For more information, see

• If the report is executed to generate type instances (for example, when the report template is used with the Generate_Report webject in an associated Info*Engine task), then this drop-down value is used to specify the root type instance.
If no Main Type is selected, then the system automatically sets one when you click Apply to save the query, based on the joins and any items currently specified on the Select or Constrain tab. If this is not the intended main type, simply change the selection.
