Deleting Preference Child Instances
A site or organization administrator can choose to delete all values for a particular preference that may be set at levels below the current context. These values at lower levels are known as child instances.
For example, if an organization administrator chooses to delete the child instances for a particular preference, then the values for that preference set for any project, product, or other context within that organization are cleared, and the value for that preference set at the organization level takes effect. Similarly, a site administrator could use this action to universally set all values for a particular preference to the preference value set at the site level.

It is recommended that you delete any child instances of a preference before locking that preference at the site or organization level.
To delete child instances for a preference, select Delete Child Instances from the right-click actions menu for the preference. Any values set for that preference at a lower level are cleared.
