Deleting Organizations
Organization information that is accessible through the Participant Administration utility is stored in Windchill organization objects that are stored in the Windchill database (and referenced throughout Windchill), as well as in organization directory entries that are stored in a directory server. Additionally, Windchill solutions use organization contexts to manage organizations.
*
You cannot use the Participant Administration utility to delete organization contexts. These contexts cannot be deleted.
Using the Participant Administration utility to delete an organization participant disables the corresponding Windchill organization participant object and removes the organization from Windchill. You can only delete organization participants that are not associated with an organization context.
When you decide to delete an organization, you have the choice of either deleting only the Windchill references to the organization, or deleting both the corresponding Windchill references and the organization directory entry.
*
To delete organization directory entries, you must have write permission to the directory service where the organization entry is stored. Deleting an organization does not delete the participants who have the deleted organization as their organization attribute.
To delete one or more Windchill organization participants, use the following procedure:
1. Add the organization you want to delete to the Participant Administration table. For more information, see Finding Participants.
2. Delete organizations by selecting either of the following from either the Actions menu or the right-click actions menu:
Delete from Windchill deletes the selected organizations only from Windchill.
Delete from Windchill and Windchill Directory Server deletes the selected organizations from both Windchill and the directory service where the organization entries are stored.
*
This action is not available for organizations that are owned by a read-only directory server.
3. From the confirmation window, click OK.
The selected organizations are deleted.
