Add Profiles From Another User
The add profiles from another user action allows you to search for a user who is a member of standard profiles in which you want the user you are creating or editing to be. For example, you may find that you are creating a user who needs to have similar profile associations to a current Windchill user. By using this action, you are able to quickly find the appropriate profiles.

Only standard profiles can be added with this action. Users cannot be direct members of a license profile. To extend membership in a license profile to a user, add the user to the license group that is a member of the license profile.
1. From the Assign to Profiles step of a New User, Save As New User, or Edit User window, click the add profiles from another user icon.
2. Enter user information in the Find Participant search window.
3. Select the user or users for which you would like to add profiles from the Search Results or Most Recent Participants lists and click the Add button to add the user or users to the Participant List.
4. When you have added all users for which you would like to add profiles to the Participant List, click OK to return to the Assign to Profiles step.
The standard profiles associated with each user selected will appear in the Profiles table. Use the from user icon to identify the source user for each profile added to the table. If more than one user is associated with a profile, only one user name will display.

If the missing modify permission icon appears, the new user will not be added to that profile because you do not have the necessary permissions to modify the profile. The new user can be added to profiles that appear with (Secured Information) as long as the missing modify permission icon does not appear.
