Templates are used in many different Windchill activities, such as creating documents, products, projects, and organizations, defining workflow processes, and establishing life cycles that can be associated with objects. Each type of template provides a unique set of data that is used in the activity; for example, project templates usually include a template file for creating a certain type of project.

There are several kinds of templates that you can work within an organization. The Templates table displays the templates based on the current view. From the view drop-down list, select the templates you are interested in viewing.

The organization administrator can create application context templates, such as library, product, project, and program templates, depending on which Windchill solution is installed. The organization administrator can also create other templates, such as document and life cycle templates.

Only site administrators can create organization templates. (Arbortext Content Manager, Windchill PDMLink, or Windchill ProjectLink only)
