Configuring Object Initialization Rules
As part of configuring your Windchill solution, you can:
Use the AttrValue element to specify default values for additional object types or attributes in object initialization rules.
Supported types and attributes are listed in Using Supported Types and Attributes. To use other object types or attributes, you may need to perform additional configuration and customization that is described in Configuring Rules.
Use the AttrConstraint element to specify constraints for additional attributes in object initialization rules.
Supported types and attributes are listed in Using Supported Types and Attributes. To use other object types or attributes, you may need to perform additional configuration and customization that is described in Configuring Rules.
Use rule variables (VarDef and VarRef elements) to hold the result of a calculation and be reused for multiple attributes when setting default values or defining attribute constraints.

The use of custom rules may involve making changes to the user interface so that the rules are checked. Before customizing, be sure that you understand the interface and follow the customization best practices as described in the Windchill Customization Guide.
Many of the object initialization rules that are loaded provide specific functionality in the user interface. Do not modify the rules that are loaded without considering the full impact of your changes.
