Editing Rules

Only the administrators of the context with the appropriate permissions can edit object initialization rules in a context.
Use the following procedure to edit a rule:
1. To start with an existing XML document, navigate to the Object Initialization Rules table where the rule you want to edit is available.
2. Select Download from the right-click actions menu of the rule you want to edit.
The Save As window opens. Select the directory where you want the XML document to be downloaded to your system and click OK.

The XML document displays in your XML editor or browser. When this is the case, you can save the document in a file.
3. Edit and save the XML document that contains the rule.
4. Return to the Object Initialization Rules table where the rule you want to edit is available.
5. Select Edit from the right-click actions menu of the rule you want to edit.
The Edit Object Initialization Rule window opens.
6. In the Name field, modify the existing name for the rule.
You can enter up to 200 characters. For information on what is displayed, see Object Initialization Rules Table.
7. In the XML File field, click Browse to locate the updated file you created in step 3.
8. Click OK to edit the rule and return to the page from which you started the activity.
or
Click Cancel to return to the page from which you started the activity without editing a rule.
Editing a rule does not change whether the rule is enabled. For information on how to enable and disable rules, see Enabling and Disabling Rules.
