Communication with Windchill Development
Communication with the Windchill Development group through the PTC Technical Support site is critical to all adapter development. A corporate memory of all adapter development is essential to ensure effective ADK development and adapter reuse.
PTC is in the process of developing a certification method so adapters developed by one Global Services group can be reused by other groups. Once certified, the adapter is added to the current library.
Communicate All Adapter Development (Required)
PTC Global Services personnel are required to report all adapter development, including:
The application to which the adapter connects
The webjects you implemented, listed by name, and including usage summaries
Information concerning the use or non-use of initialize, connect, login, logout, disconnect, or finalize standard activities
Test plan documentation
Development issues and concerns
Email and voicemail contact information for the adapter developer and the adapter owner (if the developer and the owner are not the same person, list them separately, keeping in mind that the customer is not the owner of the adapter)
Contact names, email addresses, and voicemail numbers for all persons responsible for adapter development
Any other issues concerning the development that you consider vital to the overall understanding of the project
Current Adapter Library
Windchill Development maintains an adapter library that can be referenced by our Technical Support personnel. If a standard adapter or an adapter in development meets the need of your customer, the Windchill Development group should be able to make it immediately available through PTC File Transfer Protocol (FTP). The Windchill Development group also maintains a library of webject names and uses.
