Updating a File Server
Once the site manager on the master site has prepared the information and files, performed an update on the site, and started that site, the following automatic process begins:
1. The master system notifies the File Server of the need to upgrade.
2. The master system sets the status modifier on the File Server to read-only.
3. The File Servers recognizes the need to update itself.
4. The master server sends the update to the File Server.
5. The status modifier on the File Server changes to Restart Required.
6. The system sends notifications to appropriate managers asking them to perform the restart.
7. A manager performs the restart.
8. The File Server updates itself during the restart.
9. The master system verifies the File Server release level and removes the Restart Required status modifier from the File Server.
