Working with Work Center and Processing Resources in Process Plan Browser
Resources of type Skill, Tool, and Processing Material are known as Processing Resources.
A Work Center has the resource type as Work Center.
You can allocate a processing resource multiple times to an operation. For example, screwdriver as a processing resource when assembling two variants (V1 and V2) of a car. The number of screwdrivers required during assembly of V1 and V2 are 6 and 8 respectively. In PPB, assign the quantity 6 to screwdriver allotted to V1 and quantity 8 to screwdriver allotted to V2. For more information see, Working with Work Center and Processing Resources in Process Plan Browser.
You can allocate a part or an assembly as a processing resource of an operation in PPB. For example, in-house designed jigs and fixtures that OEMs use for assembling a product. These jigs and fixtures are also considered as processing resources for the final assembly. For more information see, Allocating a Processing Resource to an Operation in Process Plan Browser.
A compatibility link cannot exist between processing resources and a work center.
No compatibility links are allowed on plant and resource groups.
For any item, it is not possible to set an additional compatibility link to the same item. For example, if for an element A1, a compatibility relationship with element B1 has already been set, it is not possible to create:
one more compatibility link from A1 to B1.
a compatibility link from B1 to A1.
