Opening a Part as Upstream or Downstream BOM in Associative Structure Browsers
You can open an existing part in upstream or downstream structure by using the
Tools action in the BOM Transformer. To open a part in upstream structure or downstream structure:
1. Click > or > . The Open Part as Upstream BOM or Open Part as Downstream BOM dialog box opens.
2. Specify the following details for a part:
◦ In Search On drop-down list, select a part, sub part or resource.
◦ In Number, enter unique numeric identifier for the part.
◦ In Name, enter the text identifier for the part.
◦ In End Item drop-down list, select Yes or No.
◦ In Configurable drop-down list, select Yes or No.
◦ In Default Trace Code drop-down list, select Lot, Lot/Serial Number, Serial Number, or Untraced.
3. Click Search. Based on your search criteria, the attribute information table displays the Number, Name, End Item, Default Trace Code of relevant parts.
4. Select a part and click OK. The selected part is displayed in the upstream structure or downstream structure.
| If a part is already present in the upstream or downstream structure, the selected part replaces the existing part. |
