Creating an Equivalent Usage Link
To create an equivalent usage link between an upstream and a downstream part:
1. Select an equivalent part each from the upstream and downstream structure panes.
2. Click Create Equivalent Usage Link
in the middle pane toolbar.
The equivalent usage link is created. To view the equivalent usage status, in the middle pane tool bar, click
.
| If equivalent usage link already exists between the selected parts, the Create Equivalent Usage Link action is skipped. |
The Create Equivalent Usage Link action is available in the usage mode only. The action is not available in the occurrence mode, or when more than one part is selected in the upstream or downstream structure.
Equivalent usage links are created automatically when parts are transferred from upstream to downstream using the following actions:
• New Downstream Branch
• New Downstream Part
• Copy and Paste or Paste as New Branch or Paste as New Part
