Scheduling the Automatic ECO Implementation Program
If your Windchill ESI implementation and business processes support publication of Change Notices (CNs) to Oracle Applications, as a Windchill ESI administrator, you will likely need to schedule the Automatic Engineering Change Order Implementation program using the AutoImplement Manager in Oracle Applications.
You can configure Windchill ESI to use CNs from Windchill to create Item revisions and create or modify BOM structures on Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) in Oracle Applications. Windchill ESI will initially set the status of each ECO to Scheduled in Oracle Applications. The AutoImplement Manager is an Engineering program that automatically implements all ECO revised items with a status of Scheduled and whose effective date is less than or equal to the current date. The program requires Engineering responsibility. You should schedule the Automatic Engineering Change Order Implementation program to run at regular intervals for all Windchill ESI-related organizations. Online Oracle Applications users would accomplish the equivalent task manually, by selecting Tools and then Implement from the Oracle menu bar in the Engineering Change Orders window.
To schedule the Automatic Engineering Change Order Implementation program using the AutoImplement Manager in Oracle Applications:
1. Navigate to the Start AutoImplement Manager window (Navigator: Setup > AutoImplement).
2. Enter or select the Automatic Engineering Change Order Implementation program.
3. Choose the distribution target organization(s) used by Windchill ESI. The following parameters are provided:
All Organizations
Organization Hierarchy
If the All Organizations parameter is set to Yes, then processing is done for all organizations having the same item master organization as the current organization. If All Organizations is set to No, and a value is provided in the Organization Hierarchy field, then processing is done for the current organization and all subordinate organizations. If the Organization Hierarchy field is left blank, then the ECO is implemented only for the current organization. Each selected organization must be accessible by the user responsibility.
4. Choose when to run the program. You can specify a periodic schedule for the concurrent program. In this case, set the processing interval, start date, and end date.
Refer to the Oracle Engineering User's Guide provided with your Oracle Applications software for further details.
