Design Collaboration and Library Distribution
Design and supply chain partners can use Creo Packages for design collaboration and distribution of design libraries. Creo Packages enables you to share Creo Parametric files by first exporting a package from the source PLM system, then importing the package into another target PLM system.
Creo Packages was not designed to be used as a migration tool and is not recommended for that purpose.
Creo Packages enables you to share designs and libraries across a variety of system environments that have Windchill PDMLink or Pro/INTRALINK installed in conjunction with Creo Parametric.
With Creo Packages, you can do the following:
• Share Creo Parametric files, revision information, and other metadata
• Provide updates of only the Creo Parametric files that have changed
• Share critical Creo Parametric reference models to partner Windchill or Pro/INTRALINK systems
• Share Creo Parametric and earlier components, such as skeletons, interfaces, and common layouts
• Publish Creo Parametric design libraries to multiple Windchill or Pro/INTRALINK systems
Each source and target PLM system may have unique characteristics:
• Creo Parametric business rules
• Life cycles and life cycle states
• Revision sequences (A, B, C)
• Different folder structures and attributes
• Software releases and maintenance levels
