Before Using the PTC Solution Installer
Before launching the PSI ensure that you are well prepared to complete the installation process. At a minimum you need to:
• Ensure that the supported Java version is used and is installed on the same server where you are installing your Windchill solution. Also, a reference to the existing Java installation must be available on the PSI.
• Ensure that the installation properties use the same version of Java that is provided on the UI.
• Set the appropriate permission levels to complete installation
• Set the installation directory on Windows to ensure that the server can run as a Window service
• Select an appropriate staging directory
• Disable security features that may prevent the PSI from properly installing all solutions or optional products
• Configure Windchill for Arbortext PE
• Prepare the Enterprise LDAP for Data Load
• Prepare the Enterprise LDAP Active Directory
• Configure for IPv6 Compliance
• Specify UNIX Settings
• Verify Server Time and Date
• Determine where and how you are going to use your staging directory
| For silent installations, the supported Java version must be installed on the same server as your Windchill solution, and the following properties must be configured: • Property WC_PROMPTED.ilp.productLoadPoints.javasdk=<path for Java>: This must be provided in the silent installation properties. • Property WC_PROMPTED.PSI_SUBINSTALLER_LST: This property must not contain javasdk in the list. |
