Description

attachments
Attachments are local files that uploaded to the server, a URL linking to a web site or object, or an externally stored source of content. Attachments are added or removed when creating or editing an object. Attachments are available for documents and change objects. For more information, see Attachments.
baselines
(Arbortext Content Manager, Windchill PDMLink, Pro/INTRALINK only) A baseline is a snapshot of an evolving collection of product data objects. Baselines can include parts, documents, dynamic documents, and CAD documents and can be created in the context of a product or a library. For more information, see About Baselines.
change objects (including problem reports, change requests, change notices, change tasks, and variances)
(Windchill PDMLink) Change objects track the process defined to make a modification to Windchill-managed objects. For example, a problem report can be created to request a product enhancement to part. For more information see, About Change Management.
documents
Windchill documents contain and manage files, such as those authored in Microsoft Word, Excel, or PowerPoint. For more information, see Documents in Windchill.
CAD documents
(Windchill PDMLink, Windchill ProjectLink, or Pro/INTRALINK only) CAD documents contain design data created with a CAD tool, such as Creo Parametric. CAD documents may be associated to parts. These parts exist in a product structure, where documents (for example a user's manual) can be associated to the part. For more information, see About CAD Document Information Page.
dynamic documents
(Arbortext Content Manager, Windchill PDMLink, or Windchill ProjectLink only when Arbortext Editor is also installed) Dynamic documents represent XML files authored with Arbortext Editor. For more information, see About Dynamic Document Information Page.
managed collections
A managed collection is a set of objects and the dependent objects that result when certain collection options are selected. It differs from a baseline in that while a baseline is essentially a “snapshot” of a group of objects and cannot be updated, a managed collection can be updated to show updated information about the objects included. For more information, see About Managed Collections.
notes
(Windchill PDMLink only) A note allows you to provide additional design information for a part in an assembly, providing a simple method for communicating important production information to manufacturing. For more information, see About Notes.
packages (and CDRLs and SDRLS if Windchill Aerospace and Defense is installed)
(Windchill PDMLink or Windchill ProjectLink only) Packages are objects which collect or reference other business objects, such as parts and documents, that must be transmitted as a set to a customer or subcontractor. For more information, see About Packages.
parts
(Windchill PDMLink or Windchill ProjectLink only) Parts are the Windchill system representations of physical parts. They are the basic elements that makes up assemblies and then products that can be shipped to a customer. Parts can be associated with CAD documents that contain the design data created by a CAD tool. For more information, see About Parts.
