Provides a variant specification directly associated with an option set instead of a configurable module. This broadens the use of variant specifications to apply more broadly to downstream views or structures, supporting either a fully defined variant specification or a managed option filter.
Additional Details
You can now create a variant specification uniquely referencing the option set for a fully defined variant specification, or a managed option filter, allowing flexible structure resolution that can apply more broadly to downstream views or structures. From Part Structure Browser, you can create a new variant specification without the context of a configurable product, based on the currently defined filter.
To enable the New Variant Specification action in Part Structure Browser under the Saved Filters menu, set the com.ptc.windchill.option.variantspec.allowOptionSetVariantSpecificationCreate property to true.
The action opens the New Variant Specifications window, where you can configure attributes for this standalone variant specification.
