Change Management: Reference Change Management Objects in External Systems

Identify remote objects as affected objects in a change request. Provide better visibility to the full impact of a change and improve the change request process with increased cross-disciplined participation.

Remote objects are requirements that are managed outside a Windchill system. Change requests that exist in a product, library or project context can now reference remote objects as an affected object. You can collect or copy remote changeable objects to a change request only. The Affected Objects table of a change request displays the remote changeable objects in addition to the local objects when the wt.change.remoteChangeableObjects.enabled property is set to true. You can create a specific view for the requirement resources in the Affected Objects table of a change request. Remote changeable objects can be propagated to a downstream change request only.

The Requirement External Resource is the only remote changeable object that is available out of the box. You can define association constraints for a remote changeable object in the Type and Attribute Management utility.
