There is tracking and managing for nonconformances and corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) for Part Instances, in addition to parts and documents.
Additional Details
You can add Part Instances to the Affected Objects table in Nonconformance and CAPA. The support for part instances in Customer Experience Management is extended to Nonconformance and CAPA.
To adequately identify and track parts and part instances, two modeled attributes Other Lot/Batch Number and Unique Identifier (UDI)are added to the affected objects types for CAPA and Nonconformance. To increase the visibility of important attributes the Affected Objects tables for both Nonconformance and CAPA contain Lot/Serial Number, Other Lot/Batch Number, and Unique Identifier (UDI).
The following preferences are required for CAPA and Nonconformance to make attributes read-only or editable when entering values for Lot/Serial Number, Other Lot/Batch Number, Unique Identifier (UDI), Quantity and Unit.

NC Affected Object (Part Instance) - Unique Device Identifier Number – Read Only
NC Affected Object (Part Instance) - Unit Type – Read Only
NC Affected Object (Part Instance) - Quantity – Read Only
