Setting Automated Cleanup Options
For each site, you can set automated cleanup options to automatically remove unreferenced files, and optionally delete these unreferenced files, on a schedule that you specify. The options that you specify apply to all of the replica vaults for a site.
By default, the automated vault cleanup operation simply unreferences replica vault files that match the cleanup criteria. These files are not deleted until you
perform a Remove unreferenced files operation. To automate this process so that files unreferenced by the cleanup operation are automatically deleted, set the wt.fv.master.deleteUnreferencedFilesOnAutoVaultCleanup property to true in the wt.properties file.
During the next replication process, the content files that were cleaned up are replicated again. If you want to prevent the cleaned-up files from being replicated, modify the wt.fv.master.replicatePrevCleanedObjects property in the wt.properties file.
For more information about unreferenced files and cleanup, see
Cleaning Up Vaults and Folders and
About Replication.
To set up automated cleanup options, do the following:
1. In the Vault Configuration window, select a site in the left pane and then select > .
2. Select the appropriate cleanup rules:
◦ Select the Restrict vault size to checkbox to control the maximum vault size. If you select this option, enter a value and select MB or GB.
◦ Select the Dereference content not accessed in the last checkbox to automatically unreference content that has not been accessed within a certain number of days, weeks, or months. This unreferenced content will be removed by the cleanup operation. If you select this option, enter a value and select day(s), week(s), or month(s).
|
For this operation, each month is 30 days. If you set this option to 12 months, it occurs every 360 days, rather than the actual 365 days in a year.
|
3. Select the Cleanup Schedule checkbox to enable automated cleanup, or clear the checkbox to disable it. If you select the checkbox, enter a time of day to run the automated cleanup and choose one of the following:
◦ Select Run once to run the automated cleanup process one time.
◦ Select Run every __ day(s) and specify a number of days to run the automated cleanup process on a regular schedule.
|
In the time field, the hours value must be between 0 and 23. Hour 0 represents midnight.
|
To run a cleanup operation immediately, click Run cleanup now.
